Nutra-Fix™ Fermentation Supplement
Use: Feed Supplement
Probiotics have been described as the opposite of antibiotics. While antibiotics kill bacteria, probiotics promote the development of normal, desirable bacteria in the gut, allowing them to dominate over the undesirable pathogens such as e.coli. A probiotic can be a live (viable) culture of a microbial species, a dead (nonviable) product of microbial fermentation or an extract of plant origin.
Probiotics are used routinely to increase rumen function and improve health. They colonize the digestive tract with beneficial flora, suppress unwanted organisms by competitive exclusion, improve feed conversion, stimulate immune response, improve the appetite and the response to stressful situations that affect digestion and health (weather changes, extreme heat and cold, feed changes, moulds and toxins in the feed).
The Nutra-Fix™ dry fermentation supplement contains 3 species of live probiotics (Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus rhamnosus and Bifidobacterium longum) and a non-pathogenic yeast, Saccharomyces boulardii. The product is especially useful as a follow-up to the liquid supplement.
A large conventional dairy producer in Eastern Ontario observed that his cows were more persistent at the end of the lactation cycle. Cows were using 0.5 kg less high moisture corn per day. The herdsman replaced enzymes, sodium bicarbonate and yeast in the ration. Cows went down by 21% in somatic cell count and milk production dropped less during hot summer days.
Benefits
The Nutra-Fix™ Fermentation Supplement helps animals digest and eliminate toxins, and promote the immune system. The action of this probiotic will improve the animal’s weight condition, increase feed conversions, and improve productivity.
- Promotes chewing: Increases production of saliva and enzymes. Reduces and converts acid.
- Improves digestion:Increases pre-digestive action, microbial activity and rate of digestion. Balances pH in the rumen.
- Changes fecal matter: Reduces the number of visible grain particles and fibre.
- Reduces odour: Decreases production of methane and phosphorous.
- Cull rates: Reduces cull rates associated with digestive disorders.
- Poultry: Helps poultry chicks develop normal bacterial populations in the intestine.
